Poker probability

Probability and gaming have been an idea since before the invention of poker. The development of probability theory in the late 1400s was imputed to gambling; if playing a game with high stakes, players wanted to understand what the prospect of winning is. In 1494, Fra Luca Paccioli released his work Summa de arithmetica, geometria, proportioni e proportionalita which was the first written text on chance. Motivated by Paccioli’s work, Girolamo Cardano (1501-1576) made further improvements in probability theory. His job from 1550, titled Liber de Ludo Aleae, discussed the concepts of chance and how they were directly associated with gambling. As it wasn’t released until after his death, however, his work did not receive any immediate recognition. Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) also contributed to probability theory. His buddy, Chevalier de M??r??, was an avid gambler using the goal to become wealthy from it. De M??r?? attempted a new mathematical approach into a gaming game but did not get the desired results. Determined to understand why his strategy was unsuccessful, he consulted with Pascal. Pascal’s work with this problem began a significant correspondence between him and fellow mathematician Pierre de Fermat (1601-1665). Communicating through letters, both continued to exchange their own ideas and thoughts. These interactions led to the conception of probability theory. For this day, many gamblers still trust the fundamental notions of probability theory so as to make informed decisions while gambling.

NASCAR at Las Vegas: Odds, prediction, sleepers, drivers to watch for Pennzoil Oil 400

NASCAR heads back to another intermediate track this week since the Pennzoil Oil 400 will feature a 1.5-mile race, which favors the Cup Series’ top drivers. But it presents a challenge compared to Atlanta Motor Speedway, in which Brad Keselowski won past week.

This track is much more affordable than that of Atlanta and tire wear will probably be less of a problem. So, last week this week motorists like Kyle Larson, who had the fastest car on the track, could have to worry about on this front.

MORE: NASCAR’s 2019 principle changes, clarified

However, the truth is, he’s got a opportunity to win this time from the beginning, while last week Keselowski sort of came out of nowhere to win. Keselowski has finished no worse than seventh over his past seven races there and has three career wins at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

He needs become the man you look at when doing tests as he’s a chance to win again.

But while we’d love to pick him, we will go with Martin Truex Jr., who is coming from a second-place finish in Atlanta and has finished third, fourth and first in his last three races in Nevada, respectively.

Legal New Jersey Sports Betting

The topic of legal New Jersey sports betting finally forced its way through to the mainstream, as the state successfully challenged the restrictive Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA, 1992) all the way to the Supreme Court, coming out on top in the end. On May 14, 2018, the SCOTUS overturned PASPA as unconstitutional, thereby allowing New Jersey — and all other countries in America — to legalize and control their own sports betting industries. With the flourishing Atlantic City gaming market and many historical racetracks across the state, the sector for lawful sports betting at NJ has the potential to overshadow that of Nevada.
Even with PASPA’s overturn, to understand legal sports betting from New Jersey, it can be handy to learn about certain other federal and state laws. Becoming familiar with the current state of authorized New Jersey sports betting will provide you a clearer picture of how and where you can bet on sportsbetting. Yes, it’s easier than ever to bet on athletics in NJ, but there is still some history that all responsible gamblers must know about.
Is Land Based Sports Betting Legal In New Jersey?
Land-based sports betting is finally legal in New Jersey! While PASPA was in effect, the only states granted exemption were those that had sports gambling laws in place before the federal law was made effective on January 1, 1993. Nevada, Delaware, Oregon, and Montana were the only states grandfathered into the law, although NV was the only state with single-game wagering (aka full-service sports betting).
Paradoxically, the only real grace period from the time PASPA was signed (October 28th, 1992) to the effective date was specifically meant to allow the state of NJ to reevaluate their own sports betting laws. But, lawmakers strangely failed to pass some other sports gambling laws during the window, which resulted in the country falling under the umbrella of the national ban. On the ensuing 25 decades, NJ legislators have worked vehemently to get the prohibition raised. Now that they have done just that, you can enjoy land-based, lawful New Jersey sports gambling all across Atlantic City and throughout the rest of the country. State-based online sports gambling is also an alternative in New Jersey, along with the sky’s the limit for how far the industry can continue to go.
Is Online Sports Betting Legal At New Jersey?
Internet gambling has been legal in the country for years, but online sports gambling has just recently been made lawful in New Jersey. Policymakers had driven legal New Jersey sports betting websites that would be regulated by the nation long before PASPA was removed, and with the federal ban no more standing in the way, NJ residents can bet at any variety of casino-affiliated online sportsbooks. The catch is that to install an account, online bettors in NJ must actually visit those novels’ related casinos to register. But, withdrawals could be requested via mail, so at least some degree of extra convenience is set up in that regard.
All that said, it’s crucial to be aware that despite the proliferation of neighborhood online options (and an obvious state interest in promoting these choices ), there’s been no legislation enacted or perhaps suggested that would make utilizing offshore sportsbooks contrary to regulations. This is a great thing, as such foreign novels are often superior to in-state possibilities, particularly when it comes to actions on local teams (as there is no home-team skew on the betting boards, forcing up the vig, or house take, to compensate). Furthermore, these overseas sites are licensed and run by local gambling authorities in their home states, and every operator is authorized to accept players from the USA.

New Jersey Sports Betting Gains For March 2019:
Although the fledgling New Jersey sportsbooks took a bit of a bathroom during the Super Bowl in January (which, ironically, is the direct reverse of»cleaning up»), the boat has been righted — and then some! On the insides of March Madness (the second-most-popular sports wagering occasion on the US calendar), NJ sportsbooks took in a total monthly handle of 372,451,342. This eclipses February’s record manage by over $52 million. Obviously, sports gambling in NJ is hugely popular, and it is simply picking up steam.
In terms of earnings, March’s figures include $31.7 million in complete take across all 10 retail sportsbooks and 13 online sportsbooks that function in the nation. Together, NJ sportsbooks held 8.5% of wagers, which is above the average 6-7% speed attained by the majority of novels in many areas. The largest individual winner for the month was FanDuel, which functions The Meadowlands’ sportsbook on-site and on the internet. FanDuel took in about $17.5 million of the total sports betting revenue in the state, while its competitor DraftKings came in second with just over $7.3 million in profits. These two books control 78 percent of their New Jersey sports gambling market.
Broken down by mobile , the numbers show just how important statewide Internet-based wagering is to states that wish to legalize sports wagering. In New Jersey, three weeks of March Madness activity led to massive standing-room-only audiences at physical sportsbooks through the country, which were pushed beyond capacity for much of the month. However, $298,282,154 was wagered online by patrons that could not make it to a proper betting venue. This is fully 80 percent of all wagers placed in the state. To put it differently, at maximum capability throughout a favorite championship, neighborhood novels just processed 20% of all wagers made by NJ residents. For any nation that wishes to maximize its own sports wagering taxation revenue, New Jersey is Exhibit A in why mobile needs to be an absolute priority.
New Jersey Sports Betting Websites There are two kinds of New Jersey sports betting sites: those who are and aren’t regulated by the state government. The state-regulated sites require you to sing up on-site, but after that, you can wager from anywhere in the country. But, you should still physically be located within New Jersey’s boundaries, along with the Interstate Wire Act remains in effect.
The other kind of NJ sports betting websites are the offshore choices. All these websites are operated overseas in places like Costa Rica where online sports gambling has been allowed for decades. Such websites offer betting lines on all your favourite sports, ensuring that you may bet on the New Jersey Devils along with other teams. The action is exactly the same that you’d see in a Vegas sportsbook, with all the best odds and gambling options like moneylines, totals, point spreads, and parlays. Even better, you aren’t geo-fenced at these books, and it is also possible to bet on NJ college athletics, which is forbidden at state-sanctioned sites.
Joining an overseas sports gaming website in NJ is easy to do: Just find a sportsbook that suits your needs and sign up. It is that easy. Accounts require less than 5 minutes to make, and membership is always free. There are many online sportsbooks that take residents out of NJ and all over the US, and each of the top brands are 100% safe, safe, and authorized to use.
New Jersey Sports Betting And Gambling Laws
New Jersey sports gambling and gambling laws have turned into a national talking point and hot-button political problem over the last several years from the push to establish legal New Jersey sports betting. Initially, all gambling was legal in the state, but in 1894, all gambling was banned. In 1939, horse racing betting (pari-mutuel betting) was re-legalized, and shortly afterwards, most charitable gaming (bingo, pull-tabs, raffles) was also approved.
The state lottery was legalized in 1970 with broad public support, and in 1975, NJ made history by introducing the Pick-It, that had been the initial lotto system in America that allowed players to choose their own numbers. In 1976, New Jersey voters approved a referendum allowing casino gambling to be made lawful in the country, provided each the venues would be found at Atlantic City.
In 2011, online casino gambling started in New Jersey, and one year afterwards, then-governor Chris Christie signed voter-approved legislation legalizing sports gambling in the nation. The legal struggles by various sports leagues (such as the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA) dragged on for a further six years, resulting in the watershed SCOTUS ruling declaring PASPA unconstitutional and null and void.
More lately, Assembly Bill 4111 was passed and signed into law, refining the legal structure and regulatory criteria of New Jersey’s new sports betting industry. The law sets the minimum age to bet on sports in 21, makes it unlawful to wager on NCAA competitions held inside the state of NJ, makes it illegal to bet on NJ collegiate teams regardless of where they perform, and wagering on eSports can also be contrary to the law. Further, the legislation mandates an 8.5% taxation rate on bodily sportsbook earnings and a 13% taxation rate on Internet-based sportsbook revenue.

Daily Fantasy Sports In New Jersey
New Jersey wasn’t the first state to govern daily fantasy sports, but they have become leaders with their innovative DFS products. The country established FastPick, a parlay-style daily fantasy sports stage. The merchandise made Resorts AC the first casino outside of NV and CO to partner with a DFS platform. FastPick is different because participants are playing against the house rather than other users. Before PASPA was overturned, this is the closest that you can get to authorized New Jersey sports betting.
The NJ Legislature passed a fantasy sports invoice to regulate DFS in the nation. The bill, A 3532, says that players should be at least 18 years old and also requires certain customer protections. Contests are permitted on both collegiate and professional sports.

UFC RELEASES SEVERAL FLYWEIGHTS INCLUDING DUSTIN ORTIZ

Heading into 2019, we all guessed there was a fantastic possibility the UFC flyweight division was on its final legs. But when Henry Cejudo knocked out TJ Dillashaw at the first round of their bout at UFC Fight Night 143, we believed there was an opportunity the branch could be spared, especially since the UFC announced a couple of other battles at 125lbs for different occasions.
Well, it looks like that might not be the case, as the marketing has reportedly released several other flyweights.
In accordance with Cejudo, who talked to the press last weekend in UFC Fight Night 144, the UFC has released top-ranked flyweights Dustin Ortiz and Matheus Nicolau. Additionally, John Moraga was removed from the UFC’s official rankings, suggesting he too has been released. The UFC hasn’t yet commented on if these fighters have really officially been released, but generally it is around the fighters to tell the fans and media when that happens. Virtually anytime somebody was eliminated from the rankings for unknown reasons, though, it’s usually because the UFC released them.
Though the UFC flyweight division is obviously on its way out, the choice to cut an excellent fighter such as Ortiz is downright shocking, and dare I say, dumb. Ortiz is coming from a competitive unanimous decision loss to Joseph Benavidez in UFC Fight Night 143 that was one of the better fights on this card. There is an opportunity Benavidez gets another crack at Cejudo’s belt, meaning that the UFC simply cut Ortiz coming from a title eliminator. And prior to this Benavidez fight, Ortiz had won three consecutive fights, such as a mind kick knockout within the aforementioned Nicolau, a determination win over Alexandre Pantoja — a gifted flyweight who it seems has been spared by the cuts so far — along with also a 15-second KO over Hector Sandoval which was the fastest knockout in UFC flyweight history. If anything, the UFC should have advised Ortiz to maneuver up to bantamweight, which Alex Perez apparently will do (in addition to fighters like Said Nurmagomedov). Releasing such a talented and improved fighter like Ortiz outright just seems absurd.
As for Nicolau, he’d won three of his battles in the Octagon before losing to Ortiz, and even though he didn’t appear to be a title contender, he provided valuable thickness at 125lbs. He additionally holds a notable win over Moraga, who it appears has also got the boot. That. Moraga was really among the initial flyweights the UFC signed back in 2012, and even though he had an up-and-down UFC career, he was still considered to be a good gatekeeper and the ideal test for up-and-comers to shoot on. In his last battle, he was knocked out by Deiveson Figueiredo, who seems to be among the couple flyweights the UFC still has on the roster. There’s no reason Moraga could not have stuck around and continued to act in a gatekeeper role. It simply seems overly harsh to cut a guy who had been among the few fighters with finishing possible in a branch that generally sees struggles go the distance.
Now, it is very weird that which the UFC is doing together with the flyweights. If you inquire UFC president Dana White, he states that the promotion hasn’t made a decision on the branch, but it seems like every day we’re seeing a flyweight get cut, and then another day we see a flyweight battle reserved. It would be fine if the UFC will make up its mind and either cut all of the flyweights or maintain a complete division, since right now the fighters have no idea what type of job security they have moving ahead, and that’s not fair to anybody.

Where the Warriors rank among the NBA’s 50 greatest teams of all time

Which group is your best of all time? To answer that question with more rigor than it’s normally debated in sports bars, in 2015 I ranked every group since minutes played were tracked in 1951-52 (sorry to the 1949-50 Minneapolis Lakers) based on their performance in both the regular season and playoffs.
Three decades later, it is time for an update using a new No. 1, and several other newcomers to the record as a result of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors dominating the competition in their respective conferences.
The method
For champions, I took the average of the point differential during the regular season and their point differential in the playoffs in addition to the point differential of their opponents. That tells us how many points per game better than an average team each champion was, giving equal weight to the postseason as the regular season to reward the most significant games.
For non-champions, the starting point is the same, but their playoff differential was also adjusted by effectively giving them a five-point reduction for each game they came up short of this title. That has little impact on teams like the 2012-13 San Antonio Spurs, who lost in Game 7 of the Finals, but it harshly penalizes teams that wrapped up large success margins early in the playoffs before falling short in the conference finals.
The previous adjustment deals with leaguewide caliber of drama. It’s not surprising that some of the best single-season team performances in NBA history arrived from the early 1970s, when the league had expanded rapidly and also battled the ABA for incoming draft selections. The redistribution of talent allowed stars to shine even more brightly. For every season, I measured how players saw their moments per match increase or reduce the following season compared to what we would expect given their age. More minutes indicates that a weaker league, while fewer minutes indicates one that has gotten more powerful.
Each year is rated relative to 2017-18, from a high of 21 percent more powerful in 1965-66, the last year that the NBA had only nine teams, to a low of 10 percent weaker in 2004-05, the last time the league expanded. That modification is multiplied by the group’s average regular-season and playoff scores to provide a final rating better than an ordinary team this season.
